A blaze broke out at Clinton Cards, near to the front of the shopping centre, at 1pm on Tuesday 11th January.

An arsonist is being hunted by police after the fire forced a wing of Peterborough’s Queensgate shopping centre to be evacuated.

Thankfully though, it did not spread past its initial point of a display stand in Clinton Cards after a sprinkler system successfully put out the fire.

Phil Drinkwater, a director of the shopping centre said “We have state of the art sprinkler systems in the store that help to prevent fires spreading and they clearly did a great job in this case.”
