Celotex

Celotex, part of the Saint Gobain group, is a leading UK PIR thermal insulation provider for the building and construction market.

Following a 20-year relationship with Celotex, Fire Security were appointed to carry out both new and replacement Sprinkler protection to it’s entire production and warehousing facility in Hadleigh, Suffolk. Appointed under a Principal Designer / Contractor role, Fire Security also carried out all associated Civils, builderswork and associated Electrical works on the project.

Automatic Sprinkler protection is provided to both distribution and curing warehouses and main production facilities to FM Global standards. Roof level Sprinkler protection throughout is designed to provide the specified design criteria utilising K360 storage sprinklers.

Office and low level protection is also provided to various areas in both the warehouse and production buildings, again in accordance with FM global requirements.

The Installation was carried out in a fully operational environment, without any loss of production.

The Water Supply installed for the facility consists of 2No. NFPA20 Diesel fire pumps operating on a Duty/Standby arrangement, each delivering 2,500 usgpm @ 130psi, drawing water from 2No. FM Global approved Cylindrical water storage tanks, with a combined effective capacity of 1,110m3.
